Ingredients

  • 142 g (5 oz) ready-cooked steak strips (John Soules, Walmart)
  • 6 g oil
  • 70 g bell peppers, sliced
  • 70 g onions, sliced
  • 2 slices ultra-thin provolone
  • 210 g low-fat cottage cheese
  • Smoky salt and black pepper (optional)

Step-by-step

Step 1 - Sauté the veg

Heat a skillet over medium-high. Add oil, then peppers and onions. Season with salt and cook until tender-crisp and lightly browned, 5-7 minutes.

Step 2 - Heat the steak

Air fryer: 400°F for 5 minutes until hot.
Skillet option: Add steak to the veg for 2-3 minutes until hot.

Step 3 - Melt the cheese

Top the hot steak with provolone to melt.

  • Air fryer: return 3 minutes until the slices melt.
  • Skillet: lay provolone over steak, cover 1-2 minutes to melt.

Step 4 - Build the bowl

Add cottage cheese to a bowl. Top with steak + melted provolone and the peppers/onions. Sprinkle smoky salt and pepper if using. Serve immediately.
